If you are all set to have a steamy night with your partner, First go outside and buy condoms to keep you and your partner safe from STD (Sexually transmitted diseases). There are more than 25 sexually transmitted diseases apart for HIV. Some of them can cause memory loss, arthritis, eye inflammation, heart disease and even cancer. So it wise to take these STD’s seriously. People having multiple sex partners are at a greater risk of contracting diseases because most youngster have [span]unsafe sex| have sex without condoms[/span]. Symptoms of such STD’s take time to surface and hence patient is completely unaware that he is a carrier.
Old people are also falling prey for sexually transmitted diseases as there is a wide misconception that they are safe- Old people generally have weak immune system making them soft targets for such diseases. Most of diseases are not diagnosed correctly because of misleading symptoms. Men may suffer from infertility and after blood tests find out that they are suffering from chlamydia. A recent study has revealed that women are more prone to sexually transmitted diseases as the vaginal environment aids the growth of bacteria and virus. Men must be careful while choosing their sex partners as Hepatitis A and B are sexually transmitted too; at present these two diseases can be prevented but is difficult to cure.
Most men complaining from testicular pain, ejaculation, pain during urination, swelled testis while women suffering from lower abdominal pain, vaginal discharge and pain during intercourse can be carriers of some sexually transmitted disease. The nature of the disease can be told only after medical tests, blood tests etc. It is always wise to skip anal sex, as it is one of those postures that causes bleeding and could transmit sexual disease. It is never too late to get yourself tested for STD’s , you never know that until you have proof. Most sexually transmitted diseases are curable with antibiotics- Syphills, Chlamydia but there are certain viral diseases that have no cure yet – HIV. Prevention is always better than cure!
